Bruce Martin
Bruce is the newest member of the Grand River Blue Cats adding his smooth bass grooves to the band. Bruce played with Alec, Paul, and Tom for many years in the band "Sam-I-Am", before moving out of Michigan. He recently moved back to Michigan and joined GRBC.

He is the youngest of a very large family where his early music exposure/memories as a small
child were listening to his older brother's albums such as Pink Floyd, Uriah
Heep, Jethro Tull and number of AOR early 70's bands.  Always liking music
he was a late bloomer in the world of music, not getting his first Bass
until age 22.  While working with guitarist Paul Hauschild in the summer
of 1987, a momentary extra $350.00 was in Bruce's possession.  The stars
aligned and the two made the trip from Hastings to a music store in Lansing
where Bruce walked away with a Washburn Falcon, and Music Man130 with a West
15" cabinet.  The Falcon was replaced with a trusty '60 Fender P and the
Music M remains his amp to this day.  His interest in the blues really
started when he first listened to the "Texas Flood" album  from SRV.  Tommy
Shannon is his favorite Bass player and Seagram's VO is his favorite Whisky.
Bruce figures eventually it is required that all blues men must  pledge
allegiance to a particular brand of Whisky so he wanted to take the pressure
off and vote early.
